Pagechats are ephemeral, meaning that each message lasts for a maximum time, then it vanishes. This has several benefits, like keeping context, reducing noise and spam, and focusing the attention of new visitors on the current discussion rather than on past messages. This helps spark up instant communities.

By default, the duration of Now4real’s pagechat messages is 30 minutes. But we have just rolled out a new feature on Premium and Enterprise plans that enables you to choose the message duration for each site.

You can choose a time between 1 minute and 4 weeks. In any case, a maximum of 50 messages is kept visible to the users in the chat history.

On the other hand, site owners have access to the transcripts of chat messages exchanged on their site up to 12 months back in time.

To customize message duration, go to the Sites section of your Now4real Dashboard, click on the gear icon of a site, and choose your duration. That’s all!
